Racor Problem

My generator's racor (fuel filter) doesn't seem to want to stay full.
I check it every time I go out and it's usually an inch or so below full.
Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?
I've changed out O rings for cap and screw down latch, but nothing has cured the problem.

Vacuum leak. Check O-rings....lid and especially on the T handle.
 
I’ve replaced the O rings in both the lid and T handle. That didn’t do the trick. Not sure what else can be done.

If it runs an inch low and stays there, your fine, they don't need to be full right to the top so long as they are not sucking air. I intentionally leave mine about a 1/4" low when servicing them so I don't make a mess filling them until full and then making a bigger mess when screwing down the cap and the filter is pressed lower into the body displacing more fuel.
 
You definitely have an air leak, if not at/with the racor then up stream from the Racor. Tighten all of the hose fittings, any hose with clamps on it, try and cut back an inch and double clamp. Your generator may run now and for a while but the air leak will get worse and then it won't run at all or worse die when ever you need it most.
 
Do you have a drain valve at the bottom of the racor? If so believe it or not, you should have a plug in it. It can crack air.
 
Switch fuel tanks. I've got this frustrating problem that the generator will tend to shut down due to air in the system when running on the starboard fuel tank. Runs just fine switched to the port tank. I don't know yet where the issue lies but working it. Just some food for thought....
I plan to have the hydraulic shop make up a short piece of clear hose with fittings to put in line before the Racor, after the Racor, before the fuel valves, etc to find out where the air is coming from....
