this may have been asked before(did search, all that came up was diesel)but ,this is my first i/o ,my last boat was an outboard and i would always use racor filters and seperators wondering if i can use them on this boat? thanx in advance
First check that you may already have a spin-on fuel/water filter for the engine, in the fuel line leading to the engine. Not sure about a 99 engine, but I believe there is also a fuel filter right where the fuel line comes into the fuel pump.
You could add a racor, but it may not be necessary depending on what you already have.
My 2007 260 has the fuel filter at the fuel pump on the engine. I don't have a separate Racor or spin-on filter.
