Racor Filter Question

As a newbie to Racors, I have two questions:

1. I removed the old filter that was 10 Microns. I had some spares on the boat that were 2 Microns. Obviously a more aggressive filter. Will I be okay?
2. How dirty are your filters when you remove them. Mine were fairly dirty particularly at the inlet.

2 microns will just tend to "plug up" a bit faster. 10 is what you will want to buy for your next filter change.
I run in excess of 2000 gallons and usually 110-130 hours in a season on one set of racors. My filters are always fairly "gray" when I change them each season.
