I'm taking our boat on a test drive with a prospective buyer tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to figure out what it would cost to replace a shift cable? When I shift into reverse firmly you can hear the gears trying to mesh before it actually goes in. It could be an adjustment. I've replaced the other cable and figure worst case, this one needs to be replaced as well. Any idea what it cost for parts and labor? I want to back this off the price. I didn't get a tune-up done either and had it scheduled for next Friday. I'm guessing that's probably $100 to $150 in parts and another couple of hours in labor? So, $300 or so? Any guesses? It's a great boat and I told the guy I'd either get it done or reduce the price accordingly.
Thanks for your estimates and wish me luck on the test drive tomorrow!!
