i was at my marine max looking around while i had a tune up on my 220 sd...i saw a 220 wit like forward faceing lights under the bow... what r they? can you buy lights for driving at night?

They are docking lights used for...............docking. Nope, you cannot buy headlights for boats. Although, the majority of canbote operators on our lake use their docking lights as headlights. Using them as headlights reduces the operator's vision and the vision of those boating near you.

Only time I every used mine was in "close in docking" at Marina with out lights or at private docks on a lake. Unless you do that kinds of docking IMHO I would not buy them.

okok what other after market thigns i can buy? ideas? anywho i do alot of dicking at nite...i go bar hopeing...were im from we have alot on water at nite:)

I've got a 220 SD as well and a couple of mods I'm considering are a Magma BBQ mounted on a pedestal on the swim platform. Also, I'm going to add blue (to match the gauges) LED tube lights to the cavities in the gunwales. They'll be tucked up and out of sight and wired to the anchor light switch. They're available at superbrightleds.com. I'm also going to change out the two cockpit lights to LED's as well.

I used to do a lot of that too back in the day....:smt009

Me too, but for some reason they always wanted the lights off, so even then dicking lights wouldn't have mattered.

Seriously though - if you end up considering a grill, poke around here - one of the regulars recently posted pics of a mod where he mounted a BBQ on a swivel on the flag pole mount. Pretty cool. Might have been a 240 sundeck, but I imagine it would work fine on our 220's.

Looks like it wasn't in the flag pole mount - not sure where I got that from.

I purchased a BBQ from Lowes for $65 (all stainless steel). It fits perfectly above the anchor locker area as well as on the swim platform. Much cheaper and no holes in my boat.
