For those of us who have a slip for our boat, here are a few questions for y'all.... No real reason, just curious and finding something to do to kill time till spring.

1. Is you slip a single-boat slip or do you share the slip with one or more boats?

--- A single boathouse.

2. Do you put your boat bow-in or stern-in?

--- I bow in as do most.

3. Re the question above, why?

--- It's more difficult getting in than out so I'd rather have front visibility.

4. Is your slip perpendicular to the main dock or is it an end/side tie?

--- It's tied all 4 corners plus spring lines.

5. What size is your slip?

--- It's 40'.

6. How much extra room inside the slip do you have around your boat?

--- It has about 16" on the sides and about 6" at the front to get the rear door to close up.

7. Does your slip come with water? Power? Pumpout station?

--- It has water and 30 amp power but no pumpout facility.

8. Do you pay for pumping out? How far from your slip to the pumpout?

--- I don't pay for pumpouts for the most part. I'll use one if it's available but 'my' marina doesn't even have one. I discharge in Haro strait, Strait of Georgia or the Strait of Juan de Fuca (all very tidal waters).

1. Is you slip a single-boat slip or do you share the slip with one or more boats? Single slip, covered
2. Do you put your boat bow-in or stern-in? Stern in all the time.
3. Re the question above, why? I tried going bow in one time but the bow pulpit and anchor are so long, to keep them from hanging over the dock I had to stay back so far I couldn't get on the swim platform. Also, backing in makes hooking up power easier, and that's a good thing.
4. Is your slip perpendicular to the main dock or is it an end/side tie? Perpendicular
5. What size is your slip? 20' x 60' Covered in a marina that's only about 5 years old.
6. How much extra room inside the slip do you have around your boat? The boat is about 14' wide at the beam so there's plenty of room. Almost too much.
7. Does your slip come with water? Power? Pumpout station? Comes with water on the dock. I pay for metered power, 30A 240V & 50A 240V.
8. Do you pay for pumping out? How far from your slip to the pumpout? The pumpout is free, and it's about 100 yards from my slip.

1. Is you slip a single-boat slip or do you share the slip with one or more boats? Share with another boat, 2 pilings between
2. Do you put your boat bow-in or stern-in? Bow-in
3. Re the question above, why? Floating docks, and there is an downward angle to the dock, so boarding is pretty much a must bow-in. Plus view from end of dock is really nice.
4. Is your slip perpendicular to the main dock or is it an end/side tie? We have drive-up wells, so I guess its perpendicular.
5. What size is your slip? 30x11, but I am hoping to get a 35' next year.
6. How much extra room inside the slip do you have around your boat? No extra room length-wise, but about 3' on the side.
7. Does your slip come with water? Power? Pumpout station? Water & 30A service, no dockside pumpout
8. Do you pay for pumping out? How far from your slip to the pumpout? Pumpout is at the hoist in the marina, and is free of charge.

2. Do you put your boat bow-in or stern-in? Stern-in
3. Re the question above, why? My boat is a bow rider. I put canvas covers on the bow and cockpit and it would be very difficult to put the bow cover on and get off the boat if the boat was put in bow-in. Stern-in makes it easy to board with the swim platform right up against the dock. Docking the boat stern-in with a single engine is not easy when first starting out, though.
4. Is your slip perpendicular to the main dock or is it an end/side tie? perpendicular.
5. What size is your slip? 27x12
6. How much extra room inside the slip do you have around your boat? About 1 1/2 feet on each side
7. Does your slip come with water? Power? Pumpout station? Water is included, electric is $75 extra, no pumpout
8. Do you pay for pumping out? How far from your slip to the pumpout? There is no pump out at my marina, however, the Town has a pump out boat that will come to you slip if you call ahead, I usually take the boat to a Town dock that has a pump out. It's about a 10 min. cruise.
