I am about to become the owner of a 2007 SunDancer 260. Boat has a Northstar GPS, but no depth sounder. I have installed graphs on bass boats many times, but never on a boat this large.
Can I mount the transducer internally on this Hull, in the sump area, so that t shoots through the Hull? On other boats I’ve done, it is mounted in epoxy, just in front of the drain plug opening.
Thanks for helping a newbie!

The boat already has a depthfinder as standard equipment. Look in the bilge and you'll see it.

Thank you!!! I’ll have the broker confirm, and have it checked during the survey!
Would still like to know if I can internally mount a transducer?

You should be able to, as long as it's designed to "shoot thru" the hull.

For your info.. My 170BR did not have the optional depth giage installed when I bought it. I picked this one up:
https://www.amazon.com/HawkEye-DT1B-DepthTrax-1B/dp/B000JEOEE0

It works amazingly well, and shoots through the hull no problem. It says to mount it in epoxy, but i simply placed it in the ski locker resting on the hull and it works perfectly. I will install with marine epoxy eventually, but I'm planning to do some work to stabilize my deck so I will do it after that. In the meantime it works amazingly well just resting on the hull.

Great value for $80 and the alarm is handy. Easy to hear and has saved me a few times. Especially when a friend is driving.

Our 06 260DA had a transducer mounted to shoot through the hull and it was worthless. It worked well if we were not moving, but would not work when moving....It was a Garmin and was epoxied in the bilge. I also have installed graphs, depthfinders, etc. in many bass boats. Transom mounts always work 100% better.
