Hey guys..As some of you know I'm on the search for a 2003.5 - 2008 340. My broker may have come across a 2003 360 that is in beautiful condition. What are the major differences between the two? I see the 360 weighs around 18500 vs 15500 lbs. It states a cruise around 26mph. performance wise What fuel burn does it burn around? the beam is 6 inches bigger I see. The seating is a little different. Thanks

I have a 2003.5 340 and at 26 mph I'm burning around 30 gal a hour. I've always said if I go to a bigger boat I'm getting diesels.

The difference is pretty significant. If you like to work on the motors, the 360 allows you to stand between them. You really need to step on the 360 to see the difference. Also, the handling is better on the 360.

Friend had a 360 of similar vintage - his even had Yanmar diesels. Significantly different boat than the 340. If it's in your price point you'd be much happier. Go check it out.

The 360 is the same basic layout with just enough extra room to allow the forward stateroom to have a wood pocket door for privacy, a separate fridge and freezer set side by side gives more capacity, and a wraparound shower enclosure, which keeps your shower water contained and everything dry in the head (nice). You also get about 6” more in between the motors, so a bit easier to work on. Scott’s smartcraft info is about right on except the 360 will be going about 2 mph slower.

Cruise, 3500 to 3600 @ 26 to 27 mph burns 30+/_ gph

You will experience a little loinger time to plane and lower speeds with the 360DA simply because it is a heavier boat with the same power. Similarly, the 360 is a little dryer sea boat and handles seas a little better. There isn't much to complain about on either boat and they both represent what Sea Ray have become a master at doing.......using space very well and building excellent mid cabin, mid-sized family cruisers.

The only "be aware of" comment I have on the 360DA is that its size can be a determining factor in how you store and maintain the boat. Very few marinas have forklifts and dry stack capability for the 36" LOA, so the 36 is probably going to lock you in to in water storage and using a travel lift when you must haul out for maintenance or for the winter. But, a lot of us are already in that situation, and it isn't a problem except for a different variable when it comes to managing your boat.

What is your cruise speed / fuel burn?

Running around 3600 rpm's about 32GPH, at 22 knots. This year we have spent more time in the 1500 rpm range. I have slowed down. I still get her up to stretch her legs on each run. I love hearing those 8.1's get up and go.
