while cleaning our 2000 34ft boat , the wife was going to the central vacuum while the t.v. was on and (the ceramic heater was plugged into the GFI outlet under the electrical panel. When she went to plug the the hose into the outlet the rest of the outlets went out. the boat is receiving 110 power on both lines and all other lighting, stove, microwave etc. is working. Only the 5 outlets are out. I checked shore power, electrical panel everything checked out, nothing tripped the only thing i can think it might be is the GFI electrical outlet. any other thoughts on this problem.

Did the GFCI trip? The rest of the outlets are most likely wired to the load side of the one GFCI outlet. My GCFI outlet which is in the head died a few years ago and I had to replace it.

I've had GFCI problems on the boat as well as the house that were solved by simply replacing them with new, similarly rated, GFCI units. Some do not age well.

Sorry. I was out buying lottery tickets.

I'm not really sure I understand the question fully. Did the vacuum stop working or just the outlets? If it's just the outlets, I would assume you tripped a GFI. Just reset it... If it doesn't reset, go to Lowes and get a new one...

Only the 5 outlets are out. I know it is about NAP time.Lets go fishing sometime .Check out my location.Any difference in a GFI electrical outlet from Lowes than Boaters World other than $$$$$$$$ Thanks

Oh, now he's part of the "lottery click" too ....now I'm two clicks behind.

I don't believe there is a special "marine GFI" out there (although now that I say that, someone will prove me wrong). Just get a high quality one from your favorite hardware store. Remember though, no wire nuts allowed on boats... hook the new one up just like the old one was hooked up.

Did you find the GFI and reset it? Don't buy a new one if the current one was just tripped. I've tripped mine several times... no big deal... just have to stop dropping my nose hair trimmer in the toilet.

Im with Gary. I have had a GFI fail and would not reset. Multiple outlets are daisey chained to a single GFI.

I fried a GFI last spring by turning off the breaker on the dock post for the right-side 50A outlet, and then plugging the boat in (yes, with all breakers ON) into the LEFT-side 50A outlet.

I was sober too.

The GFI sacrificed itself - no other damage, but the buttons on it were locked. When I pulled it out, it was exactly the same model I have in the house. No need to pay boat prices.

Yes,
you probably have a tripped GFI somewhere in the boat. They are usually "daisy chained"
A GFI in one room will trun off outlets in another room.
I would go through the boat and re-set them all. Look in all the cabinets in the head too. Sometimes there will be one hidden in there.

Also, yes they are the same at Home depot.

Hopefully it is that simple.

I fixed it. I fixed it all by my self and a little help from my new S-RAY pals.Replace the GFI outlet 20amp with a pretty green light on it.14.95 at Home depot. Thanks 4 the feed back. Boat got a wash and wax today also.My second repair but the first one was replacing a bulb that was $ 9.95 at
W.M.$4.95 at H.D>WOW
