ive been trying to figure out how much fuel i burn....i dont have flow meters so its hard to pin point it

i cruise at roughly 20-22 MPH depending on wind current etc.....
and i am at between 3000 and 3100 RPM

i have the 454's in it also......

just curious what you other guys are running at speed wise and rpm wise
and what kind of fuel burn you are getting

thanks guys!!

I cruise at 22mph at 2200 with total fuel burn of 18gph for 1.22 mpg. But my engines are diesel, yours will have higher fuel burn than mine
i did find on my several hundred mile fishing voyage last weekend that I got over twice the mpg at 8 mph, greatly extending the range and or cutting fuel cost in half.

I have a Garmin 4212 with GFS10 flowmeters on my 1986 with 454 Crusader's. At 1000 rpm and about 6 mph it gets 1.4 mpg, at 1500 rpm and about 9 mph it gets 1 mpg, at 2000 rpm and about 12 mph its really pushing water and gets .7 mpg and it stays at .7 mpg up to 3100 rpm and about 21 mph. From there the 4 barrels start opening and it will drop to .5 mpg at 4400 rpm and about 28 mph. Recently took a 116 mile round trip at cruise and burned 162 gallons for a .72 mpg average. If the props and running gear get fouled with barnacles fuel burn will go up 10-20 %. Diesels will burn about 1/3 less fuel and give a slightly faster cruise and top speed.
