Question about providing shore power to another boat.

I have an old Quicksilver 5kw with 2 ac units on my 92 350 EB
Even with sliding doors open, I often have to ask the admiral to look over the side to see if it is pumping water out to make sure it is running.

I have used the adaptor plug many times to give a friend power when we were at the beach and don't feel that I taxed the genny at all.
Hardly even hear it 'surge' when his ac kicks on.
I do keep both hot water heaters off though.

You can run two A/C with one genny. Figure the amps you use continuosly. That should not be more than 75% of the rated output of the genny. Two A/Cs usually are less than that number. We do not sleep with the genny on because the CO detector goes off more often than not. Instead, we cool the boat down to 50-55 degrees and shut everything down. If it gets stuffy later on, we crack a hatch.
