Question about a 185.

I towed my 185 w/4.3L for 8 yrs with my '00 4.7L Tundra 4WD w 245 HP with the towing pkg(similar to '05 and newer V6 (236HP) Tacomas) with no issues(my GCWR is 11,800 I think, not sure what the Tacomas are.). In fact, I always had to keep checking my mirrors just to make sure it was back there still! It always felt like it wasn't even there. (my 210 Select's a whole different matter, I know it's there from the get-go - I'm thinking of upgrading to the newer Tundra with the 5.7L Motor but until I do, it's handling it ok, I just don't set any speed records getting up to 55 mph, although it does get there fairly quickly, considering the load!)

I'm not sure about the ridgeline, last I knew, it could only do light tow packages like pop-up campers and small motorcycle trailers as it's max tow ratings weren't that high.

I have ruled the Ridgeline out now due to the lower tow rating and am looking at some used Tacomas and Tundras now. Thanks for all the info.
Unfortunately our 185 purchase is being held up until we sell some property we own. In this market....I may be lucky if I am boating before 2009.:smt013

I'm about 143% sure you mean GCWR... a GVWR near 12,000lbs we're talking about F-350 / 3500HD DRW ratings

I tow my 195 with an F-250 with the Diesel. No issues at all and get 16mpg on the interstate.

If you buy a ridgeline, I will give you my number to come yank you out of the water... cause the unibodies are prone to flex, lose traction, and slip on inclines/declines when attached to a heavy trailer.

My suggestion would to be to buy you somethign nice to drive everyday that gets good gas milage, and pick up a lat 90's early 2000 model F-150/Sliverado 1500/Tahoe/Expedition atc on the cheap since nobody wants to put fuel in them anymore and the used market is pumped full of them.

Furthermore, make sure you get a 4X4... on some ramps, it comes in realy handy on busy days when other boats/trucks/trailer have soaked the ramp surface.

Ah, you're prob. right. I get all those G*R ratings mixed up. I only check it, when I have to figure it out.
