For a 1987 dual throttle control anyone have a diagram with part numbers they can share? I have scanned the web no success.

thanks

We had to replace the RC on our '86 Seville and the dealer was the only source of part numbers. I think we ended up having to upgrade the whole set up because there were certain pieces that had become obsolete. The dealer will search other dealers' inventory for the parts too, so you can get them as quick as possible. I can't say enough good about our local Sea Ray parts guys. They'll make a career out of finding a certain part if they have to. There are other "Merc" dealers in town but my preference is to deal with the "Sea Ray" guys. Could be that after 20+ years and 8 restorations, I know them pretty well too,,,,, eh? Sourcing all my parts through the dealer also saves the hassle of finding out half way through a project that certain pieces are obsolete and that I have to start from the beginning again. That gets a lot more expensive than paying the premium on genuine "Merc" parts from the dealer, IMHO. Good luck.

Just looking to take it apart for servicing, and look at the drive toggle switch electronics to see why both UP does not work and go from there. thanks.

The drive toggle switches fail after a while. Just pry the ring off the top of the shifter, lift out the switch, unplug wires and replace. 3 minute job. Unless you are replacing the shift cables, don't take it apart. Take the cover off and grease but don't disassemble. Too many adjustments. Somewhere, I found a diagram of it. Either under Quicksilver or whoever made it for them.

Just saw this post. If you still need this information I can email you what I believe is the correct documentation. If you could post a picture of your controls that would help validate what I have is the correct document for your needs.

I have something I can email you if you give me your address.

That be great if you have it.

If you want to PM me your email address I can send you the manual for the shifter. Might be the same JVM has.

I was trying to determine what to grease exactly, I see the detents buried but has to be more points to grease..

Thanks for all the info, my trim switches did not want to work in the up mode even below the trim limiter drive switch. I took switches out used a screwdriver to short across the live power to the up wire everything started working again even just switches, I suspect wire\switches are corroded so more to service. As far as lubing years ago I made a cable lube adapter out of hose and zerk fitting I was looking inject some in the control cables. On a good note I did manage to find the zerk on the steering cable on the drive end, was told there is none.
