Q About Alpha One and Gen II difference

I just replaced my impeller in my gen II. I used the write ups from:

Im starting to wonder because my kit came with 2 o rings I didnt use. The alpha one's have an o ring that fits in a grove on the drive shaft. The gen II's dont. Was I right not to put one on the drive shaft? Where did the other o ring go? I remembered the really little one between the upper and lower halves. Just not sure why I have 2 left over. Oh, by o ring, I mean exactly that. Not the slinger with groves, just 2 identical o rings maybe about the size of a quarter.

Westie is correct, I just rebuilt both of mine last weekend and they do go into the water tube section that slides onto the top of the water pump housing.
