Put in Bay (no boat)

I have seen sailboats in front of the monument on the bay side.... I didnt think there was enough water in there...might be a local knowledge thing .... I wouldnt do it if there was a north east wind though.....mooring ball is your best bet

Wouldn't be long term or even overnight. Our typical boating day is to go find a nice spot, drop anchor and relax for a few hours. We would either be back on the trailer or in a slip before dark

Well you are a ferry boater now to the islands …..So anything is a step up :)

The bay in front of the monument is plenty deep, but holding sucks - it’s rocky/weedy. Friends of mine anchored their 46 Beneteau there a few years ago and narrowly escaped serious trouble when the wind picked up and shifted.

The mooring balls on the other hand, are awesome. They’re run by the boardwalk, and unlimited ferry rides back and forth to your boat are included in the fee.
