Push button cabinet latch issue

I had a button come out of a cabinet latch, I can’t get the button back in, and I can’t open the cabinet, any ideas on how to unlatch without the button in it? Also anybody have a source for buying new latches, the whole assembly? 07 40 dancer … thanks!!!!!!

The metal parts in the latch are “pot metal”, which is a zinc based cast metal. It’s prone to corrosion and the parts can get stuck. You can try a quick spray of WD40 or spray penetrating oil and then see if you can jiggle the mechanism with a screw drive to get it to release. If it is broken, as others have said, Flounder Pounder has them in all sizes.
