Im just about to purcahse a 1995 270 Dancer with 300 hrs..Boat seems to be in very good shape..Owner is well organized and has paper trail of services performed..If u can would love to hear a few comments about this boat..Both good and bad give it to me so i can make an informed decision..By the way it has the 7.4L Mercruiser with Bravo 11..

Have you had the outdrives and engines checked by a mechanic?
Have you run the boat for an hour or two at speed?
I would be suspicious that a 1995 boat has only 300 hours on it? Are you sure? Are they the original engines?

If the boat is up north and stored for the winter, the hours are inline with boats I have purchased. I bought a 13 year old boat with 220 hours on it and 30 to 60 hours a year is not uncommon. It still had the original plugs, wires and distributor. We don't know where Weeg is from or where the boat is from, so it's hard to say.

I've been on a couple of trips in the San Juans with a pair of these boats and when ours kids leave the nest(I'm optimistic!), it will be high on our list as a replacement for the 300 DA.

Im from Westchester County NY...So yes the boat gets stored up here...Whats a good site to get some comparable pricing to see if what the person is asking is a good deal for Me???? I really appreciate your help..Thanks Weeg

The best place is something like Boattraderonline. You can see what similar boats are asking, not necessarily selling for. I'd discount those numbers significantly. NADA has prices, but those never seem accurate to me. In this economy and this late in the year, I'd low ball it by at least 30%! Worst thing he can do is say no and counter. There isn't a whole lot of boating time left and he's going to be looking at winter storage or moorage and winterizing costs! Make sure you have it surveyed and negotiate with the owner WHO will pay if something comes up in the survey! If it turns out you need a new gimbal bearing, will he pay or will he just knock that off the purchase price? Get it figured out before you have a survey done. Don't lock yourself into just this boat! There are a lot of deals out there!
