Pulley Rust

Whats the best way to remove some pitting/rust that has been rendering my alternator and power steering pump belts useless and squeeky after 1 season???? :smt100
I am somewhat crafty but not sure how to remove them and if that is even needed.

V-Belts or serpentine? Sounds like loose belts to me...

Its a '92 mercruiser 3.0L
I'll see if I can tighten them but it appears my alternator is as far out as it can go....... :huh:

Seems they are as tight as they can go....Maybe I am missing something......What is the proper way to tighten these things?

You may have the wrong belt on it. You may want to check with a dealer to make sure the belt your using is the correct one.
