Public Believes "Facts" that Don't Happen to Be True

QUOTE OF THE CENTURY ....MAYBE EVEN THE MILLENIUM

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

That's interesting. Where did you find that quote? I would like to read the article if there is one. Thanks.

Joe asks for 6 months of retraining for 'Cattle Guards'!

Slowjoebiden.jpg

CATTLE GUARDS, THIS IS ABOUT AS GOOD AS THEM WANTING TO CHANGE THE LAW OF PHYSICS!

You will love this one, I haven't stop laughing yet.

For those of you who have never traveled to the west, or southwest, cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings, in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area. For some reason the cattle will not step on the "guards," probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails.

A few months ago, President Obama received and was reading a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado . The Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, so he ordered the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the “cattle” guards immediately!

Before the Secretary of the Interior could respond and presumably try to straighten President Obama out on the matter, Vice-President Joe Biden, intervened with a request that...before any “cattle” guards were fired, they be given six months of retraining for Arizona border guards. 'Times are hard', said Joe Biden, 'it's only fair to the cattle guards and their families!'

And these two guys are running our country, OMG!

Passed on to you without further comment...Now you do the same.

In FY2009, which began on September 1, 2008 and represents the Bush Administration's final budget, the budget deficit was $1.416 trillion. In FY2010, the first budget of the Obama Administration, the budget deficit was $1.291 trillion, a decline of $125 billion. (Source) Yes, that means President Obama has cut the deficit -- there's a long way to go, but we're in better shape now than we were under Bush and the GOP.

Today's election results will indicate if most of the rest of the country shares this belief.:smt009

CBO is not always accurate with their predictions as they are solely based on what info the administration give them and they don't adjust for interest rates and inflation. However, let's say they are right or close.

Riddle me this, who has had control of Congress and the Senate and the spending since 2006.......that's right, the Liberal Dem's.

so when you compare to 2008, that is all the Dem's. Now look at 2013...before we even get there..it was the Dem's. Unless we, and I pray, can stop it.

The deficit was cut because the Banks paid their loans back had nothing to do with Obama what did. But when you own the Lame Stream Media they aren't going to report anything like that. We just had a company meeting on the state of the company. Obama care was going to cause Blue Cross to raise the rates by 19% but we were told the Whitehouse told them to draw the increase down so it wouldn't look like Obama care was making health care more expensive. Well it went up 15% and so did the deductable and cost to the employees isn't Obama care working great to reduce health cost!:smt021

Ditto

Isn't that the reason for this thread..... it seems most of the country believes a lie.

You mean the Hopey Changie LIE or the cheap health care LIE We can see he didn't LIE about taking working peoples money and giving it to the non working people or was it that he was going to come down on Wall Street and then surrounded him self with people from wall street and tax cheats. Well you see that is what the ELITE do bro.

Balony!!

2006 was a repudiation of failed Bush Era policies.

2010 is shaping up to be a repudiation of Democrat polices.

That is NOT the same thing as saying we want to go back to the stupid policies of 2000-2006.

NOT the same thing at all. No. . I don't think the Tea Party would be happy with the RINO Bush policies. They talk (and talk and talk) about taking a third direction.

Of course. . they talk about fiscal conservatism, but we all know what will happen in practice.

CBO definately accounts for inflation and interest rates. Whether they use the correct numbers is a second question. One can question CBO accuracy, but I don't really know of any other credible alternatives.

The Republican President could have veto'd some of this legislation. In fact, I seem to recall Bush falling all over himself to sign the TARP legislation which drove the worst of the FY2008 over run.

"2010 is shaping up to be a repudiation of Democrat polices" Quote

I agree with this.
Let's not get too giddy fellas. It's great that the people will put in place a stop-gap to the rubber stamp of this socialist agenda but, it is really people saying the Dem's have done poorly the past 2 years. It is in no way that I can see people saying the Republicans have done anything great. This two party system IMHO is at the root of what is wrong today in American politics. If we had a bunch of regular guys sitting around a table we could agree to disagree. The problem is these clowns are too worried about getting re-elected and the support of their party and they therefore vote according to what will benefit THEM, not the country, first and foremost. It is truly sickening and I wish the parties could be abolished and men could be men and vote for whats best for their constituents and not their personal bank accounts!
That being said, the Republicans better come up with more than rhetoric over the next 2 years or they will provide the magic carpet for the Almighty Obama to ride into another 4 year term!

This is the quote I was taking issue with:

Now, can you truthfully say you are really better off now than under Bush?
