Returning to the entrance of San Diego Bay yesterday. The Pt. Loma light house is on the left, near the palm trees on the tip, and the main channel is directly ahead. This point can see get some large surf in the winter, but the channel is very wide, so getting through is never an issue. 2-3 ft swells, wind about 7.

Hotel del Coronado is to the right of his shot. Nice beach but the water is still chilly there. Coronado Island has come a long way since my brother was born on it 60 years ago!

Yes, Nado is on the right, and straight ahead, about 1.5 miles is the sub dry dock which includes Boomers. Lot's of naval ships including big flat tops traverse this channel. It is not uncommon to hear "5 short horn blasts" as they make their way through the recreational boaters who think ships can turn and brake like an auto. Water is still warm in So-Cal at around 67F. Warmest I can remember in decades for this time of year. I was putting on my wetsuit getting ready to swim off the boat in the vicinity of this shot, but my guests were looking green, so we aborted and headed inside to anchorage for a dip. Happy T-Giving.
