I am going to boat races next weekend. I am in a 420DA. I am leaving Friday, planning to go ouside at Montauk, and probably arriving to Moriches Inlet around 2pm. Will I be ok to come through inlet and down bay to Patchogue at that time? If not what other options are available? Thanks.

Exactly what info are you looking for???

I am wondering if the depth coming through the inlet at LOW TIDE is sufficient and same for the bay heading to Patchogue. I draw a little less than 4'.

Contradiction - I would NOT go through Moriches at low tide. I am planning a trip, leaving next week, which will be going through Moriches. Call the coast guard and get updated buoy coordinates to plot your trip. Also... do a search here on the forum for Moriches. It's a bit tricky.

In terms of an alternative, to avoid Moriches, would be Fire Island Inlet. But then you would be going quite a bit out of your way to get back to Patchougue. Good Luck!

I would avoid Moriches. You would be better and safer to come to fire Island inlet and track back to patchogue through the bay.Moriches is really poor and even the coast guards recomends avoiding it.
