I've been having an issue with the STBD shaft seal. A few weeks ago it started leaking while above 2500 rpm. Backing down and it will slowly stop. I read that burping them and sanding with 400 wet dry paper should stop a leak. I did that tonight, went out for a ride and everything seemed good. After a 5 min or so run at 3200 rpm it strarted to leak again. Backing down and it stops. Back up to 3200 rpm again and after a few minutes it leaks.

Its a very strong leak. About a gallon of water every 2 or 3 minutes.

I'm wondering if the shaft is vibrating causing the seal between the carbon face and stainless steel rotor to leak. A possible cause may be a bad cutlass bearing. These things are bullet proof for most applications so I'm curious what you find.

On a previous boat I had a similar issue. Turns out there is a maintenance needed every 6-8 years or so. The bellows get hard after a while. Info was on PSS website.

If its a dripping shaft seal They all leak more after the shafts are turned by the engine. Its how they work. Wait a half hour after engaging the transmission with the engine shut down. Perfection, which is like sitting on top of a bubble, is 2 drops or so every 30 seconds with a cold seal. If you make adjustments dont forget the cotter pin
