Finally pulled the trigger on a 2007 280da. I'm glad the search is over. I feel great about my decision as well as the boat. The only downside is that I have to wait till Spring to take her out. One of those deals you can't pass up. So now it's time to learn about the in and outs of the boat and it sure seems like there is a ton of info on this forum to do do.

My first boat i bought an Imperial was in mid October. When I brought it home it was all ready winterized . My wife still laughs at me for just sitting in it on the trailer. That was a long winter.

Been there, done that!

I bought my 310 in October of 2008... visited the showroom a few times that winter just to sit on it and check it out!

Congratulations and welcome to CSR!

No need to put her away yet! you still have 3 weekends left. Four if your feeling adventurous.

Congrats on the new boat and if your new to the Lake Erie islands, welcome!

Where will you be keeping her?

Congratulations on the new ride! Very nice boat and one that we have on our radar.

Welcome to CSR as well. I hope you can join us at our annual rendezvous next summer.

Welcome to CSR. Congrat's on the new to you 280. You'll definitely enjoy the boat.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Would you be kind enough to let me know when and where. That would be awesome.

There will be a thread started in the near future about the 2015 CSR / Lake Erie Island Rendezvous. Tentative dates are July 31, Aug 1 & 2 and it will be held at the Paper District Marina in Sandusky.

Congrats... Cant tell from the photo if the hull is blue or green. If it's green, I've only seen one other green 280 and 340. Exclusive club! (well not really)
On my green hull I've had great results with Meguires Flagship Cleaner Wax and either Collinite liquid wax as a second coat, or Meguires Flagship Wax too. Don't want to hijack this thread with a bets results magic formula discussion though!

Aw, go on and take her out. :smt038

When I bought my first power boat it was the end of January. I towed it home through a snow storm and about 8" of snow, from north of Seattle to SE Washington over the Cascade Mountain passes and a distance of about 240 miles. The temps at home were hovering just above freezing at night and in the 40's in the day time. The day after I got home I hit the Columbia River. It was snowing like crazy, blowing like crazy and I had to stick my head out through the canvas to see where I was going.

At one point I was on plane, snow was hitting my face so hard it stung, and I realized I had this great big ****eating grin on my face. I absolutely loved that first trip even though the weather was horrible and it was only about an hour long.

I put the boat in the garage where it would stay warm enough not to freeze and left my truck outdoors until the weather warmed up.

Crazy? You bet! But I loved every minute of that first trip.
