Proud new 280DA owner - a couple of questions

Regarding the stiffness of the throttles I had a similar issue and it can be adjusted. There are cables underneath the throttle casing (the casing pops off) which run back to the engines. These cables can be loosened or tightened as needed (check the manual). I am not mechanically inclined so I didn't adjust them myself. They were adjusted for me by the dealer (while I watched) when I took delivery.

We love our 280DA! Congratulations!!!

I would look at the trim tabs for the 280 as levelers. You should not need them to get on plane. I have found that I run either less than 8 MPH or fast enough to get on plane. Usually around 22-23. Explain to your wife how much it cost to go 15 MPH and actually the ride is best and more efficient around 28MPH.

Good luck and enjoy.

Scott

I am another new 280 owner and have been struggling with the Water Pump question as well - thanks.

I also have a problem with the stereo. It is a Clarion with a 6 CD changer. There is no power to it. Check the fuses and the breaker switch which all seem ok. The remote on the helm controls doesn't work, but it does light up when I turn on the nav lights. the surveyor told me all was OK when he checked it and the boat has been laid up for ages. Any thoughts? Thanks

Scott, you need to turn on the amp @ the main breaker panel turn on the radio either from the radio face or remote, and then turn on the speaker switch @ the helm.

You should post this in the Official 280 Thread....dredging up a thread from 2007 won't yield much of a response.
