Hi folks! Sorry I have not been active in the forums for over a year now. I have been having family problems lately. Anyways, where is the best place to buy props for the 400 dB? I used to have 21x24's but I always had issues keeping plane especially with a heavy load of fuel and water. I am looking at 21x23's.
Flounder pounder doesn't have them, I already emailed them. Thanks in advance.

Swordfish, great to hear from you. I just had my props pulled and sent them off today to get scanned. I have 22x24 on mine. While talking to the company doing the work, he quoted me $1800 on my size nibral. The site is www.performancepropsinc.com.

Hi Prosideus, thank you for the info. I see you have a later model 400db. Mine is a 2000. I dont know what engines you have on yours, i have the cat 3126's. Your props are a bit pricey. Anyways i will still try to get a quote from performancepropsinc . Thanks again.

What is your speed and WOT numbers with your current props? What is the transmission ratio? It may not help you much, my props are the same as Procidrus, 22x2 4 blade

Can't a good prop shop cut down the 24 inch prop to the size you want. I ask this more as a question than a statement of fact as I really don't know if it can be done, but, it seems like a reasonable process for someone that knows what they are doing.

I have 3116s. I hadn't priced props before so I was a little surprised at first. I now know the relative ball park cost for a prop.

Thanks PMC. I can get into plane at 20 knots with 2400 rpms. WOT i can only top 23 knots at 2700. This is even with a light load, say half tanks of fuel and half tank of water. Emptied waste tank, 6 people on board. When I have over 3/4 of fuel and 3/4 of water, I need at least 3 people to go up in front to keep the bow down. Trim tabs are all the way down too. Do you think I may be running 1 inch diameter smaller? This were the props when i got the boat. Thanks again.

ImpulseIII, sorry I did not state it clearly. I kinda hit a reef and broke a leaf on the port running gear. Bent a shaft and strut as well. :-(

mistercomputerman, I'm still at the denial stage, if you know what I mean... I'd rather not talk about the incident. Twas pure negligence on my part. I admit it, it was my fault but would not want to discuss it since it hurts my feelings. :smt017

I actually have a set of locally casted props made of manganese bronze at the moment. They are way too heavy compared to the old screws.

I have a set of 22" x 24" Nibral Props from a sundancer version of your boat...1.75" bore. They can be repitched to 22" for your boat without any problem. Boat has Cat 3116 too but probably lighter.
I PMed you too.
