I have a 2002 320 Sundancer with 350/300 hp Horizons with V-drives. The props were just pulled with the plan of sending them out to be tuned. The stamping on the prop is "18R19" and "L cup". Can any of you 320 owners tell me if those are the proper props for my boat? I bought it used last year and the surveyor told the previous owner that the props should be tuned. I'm wondering if the right props were put back on my boat. My problem is I'm unable to stay on plane unless I'm doing high rpms like 3800-4000. I told my mechanic not to send the props out until I confirm they are the correct ones for the boat. Any help is appreciated.

2002 320DA TVD-350 MAG MPI (300 PHP) MERC. INBOARDS 2.00:1
18"X 19"X 1.5" R3BLC NIBRAL 1688686 4800
18"X 19"X 1.5" L3BLC NIBRAL 1688685

This information is from the SeaRay website. So it does look like the correct props are on the boat. Not really sure what the 'L Cup' means but there is an 'L3BLC', I am just assuming that is the same, but not sure

Edit: Oh yeah, BTW, that arbitrary 4800 is the max RPM for your motor.

I switch to 4 blades. When i got my 320 new I had 18x19 and 18x 18 SR says they did that because of the ineffeciancies of I v drive in reverse. All I know I had to run on motor alot harder and it use more oil. My second season i switch.

My 2007 motor is newer, but is rated up to 5000 rpm's.

Something is wrong, I cruise loaded up at 3500-3600. tuning the props shouldn't make that drastic of a difference; usually 1-2 mph/100 or so rpm unless badly damaged. do you get max rpm? what does the bottom surface of the boat look like?

I purchased the boat just about a year ago in Long Island, NY. I saw the boat on dry land one week, saw it in the water for the sea trial and final part of the survey the next week, then I picked it up and drove it 7 hours back to my marina in Rhode Island. I have no idea what the bottom was painted with, but I had no growth during the season. There is a good possibility that there were six years of bottom paint on the boat. The props were allegedly removed, tuned, and put back on before the boat was launched.

When the boat was hauled last fall, I had the bottom soda-blasted down to the gelcoat. Then they applied two barrier coats and a final coat of a premium bottom paint was applied a short time ago. If the condition of the bottom was a problem then, it shouldn't be now. The props are off the boat and will be sent to the prop shop now that I know they are the correct props for the boat. My mechanic meaured my tabs and I do believe he told me they were 20" x 12". He told me there is no room to put larger tabs on without drilling new holes and relocating the pistons. I would rather not do that unless absolutely necessary.

The "L Cup" stands for Light Cup. Uses cup gage #3. Med cup is a #5, Heavy Cup is #7 and so on. L3BLC stands for left hand rotation, 3 blade, cupped.

My props are (they came with the boat, which I assume are oroginal props. I haven't change them):
1) 0585402. 18 x 18.5 RH
2) 0583470. 18 x 19 LH

The boat runs up to specs and has no problems stayig on plane at 3500 with no tabs (tabs up). With tabs down I can cruise at 3300-3400rpms. Did that for couple of hours in the 2-3' chaps and head winds in the ocean last year.
