I have a 1980 260DA with twin 470's that is needing new props soon. Merc specs say 3800-4200 WOT, I'm getting closer to 4600. Searay says the props should be 15.25 x 21c and be at 4200 for 80-82. 83 the same boat and engine combo they say 13.75 x 21c and 4200. I have 14.25 x 21's on it now and am pushing 4600. Would the extra inch in diameter make that big a difference in rpm? I have also thought about switching to stainless props, any pro's and con's to making the switch? Any chance someone has the same boat engine combo that can chime in what props they are running?
