Hello All

I am sure this has been asked before but here goes again I Have a 02 225 weekender with a 5.0 260 hp Alpha drive the boat came with a 14x 19 prop and was wondering if there was a better size to run the boat their will usually be between 2-4 people on it anyone here running that boat want to help out :smt100

The stock prop will be the best all around performance. You could experiment with different props, but it usually turns out the same way, a couple hundred bucks per prop you try and you get lots of different results, but no big advantages without disadvantages. Searay knows what they are doing when the put a prop on the boat. If you wanted to get more top end OR out of the hole performance I'm sure you could, but not without sacrificing other performance areas.

Get a stainless Mirage or Vengance prop of the same pitch.

My old 230cc is probably simular to your boat. It ran a 15x15ss cupped that carried the back of the boat well even with two adults sitting in the transom seats. The 230 had bottom paint too. Wot was 40mph gps at 5k. A little high on rpm but the thing would pull really good. At crusing speed the engine ran as if there was no load at all on it.

I allways felt a 15x17ss Mirage would be perfect for it. But I got a bigger boat:grin: ...Ron
