:smt024 Hi All, :smt100
Happy Spring from beautiful Md. I need to know from someones personal experience the best prop puller to use on my 2004 340 V-Drives. I will be pulling the props while the boat is on the lift. Any person with first hand experience with this, I will value your advice. They are 4 blade props.
Thanks,
George

George... you almost hit the Lottery!! I had one sitting in my Garage that I would of let you have for shipping, but alas it's for a 3 Blade. Sorry Shipmate!

Thanks for the thought Marshall. My Dad was a Boatswains Mate in WWII. I was USN Aircrew ADJ2 4 yrs. One thing I learned in all those years of flying off Carriers is that anybody that says a landing on a Carrier is not a controlled crash has never made one. If you ever get down this way I will take you to the Fleet Reserve Club in Annapolis. It's great. I hope somebody comes back with an answer soon on the prop puller.

That's a lot of money for a once every couple of years tool. You may want to see if a local rental shop has one, preferably hydraulic. If you are having them reconditioned, the shop may rent/lend one to you or come to you and do it.

If you DIY place the thin nut back on the shaft until the shaft is even with the aft edge of the nut. That way, when the prop lets go, it won't crash to the ground....or your foot!

Make sure there are no set screws holding the prop in place.

Good luck.
