i have a 1977 sea ray with a 235 hp omc drive cuddy cabin. it has a 17 deg. prop on it. i was told to make it have more power to have 6 people in it and pull a skier i need a 13 deg prop bc once i get over 4 to 5 people on the boat it wont plane out even when i adjust the trim. with 2 or 3 people in the boat it will fly. but im more into getn on top the water and being able to pull a skier with 5 or 6 people in the boat so can any one tell me were i can find a good used or new prop thats like 12 or 13 deg for a 1977 sea ray with an omc pin drive? i cant seam to be able to google it and find one.

Thanks Luke.

Don't know if this will help, but if you routinely have a full boat and want to pull skiers, check out these trim tabs. Maybe other's here can elaborate on whether they will do the trick. I know if I have a full boat, I absolutely have to use trim tabs to get up on plane, yet no problem getting on plane without them when it's a light load....

BTW, even my 5-blade SS prop doesn't do the job without the trim tabs.

Do you have the "smart tabs" on your boat? How do you like them? Do they level out the boat if you have a cross wind and the boat is leaning?

I have hydraulic tabs right now and they have some issues, Looking at replacing them and this might be the ticket. Any idea on the size of the large ones, Don't see it listed anyplace.

Thanks

LK

No, I have hydraulic tabs also. I just thought the Smart Tabs might be a cost effective way to go on a 19 foot boat. Hopefully someone here can give some first hand advice. Installing hydraulic tabs would be the answer, but they are a lot harder to install, and are a lot more expensive.
