I was installing the larger prop nut on a bravo 3. I used a new nut right out of the bag. While turning the large nut into place the socket began to turn very loosely. Upon inspecting it the nylon in the nut that is supposed to keep the nut from loosening separated completely from the nut. The sudden loose feeling was the brass nut turning freely up the shaft while the nylon piece was left behind. Why? My guess is the nut was new old stock and became hard or whatever adhesive is supposed to hold it in place dried up. Any ideas??? Whatever the case a $45 nut that failed after 10 turns is more than curse worthy!! Everything is clean as the nut spun free as can be without the nylon
