Just purchased a 2006 Sea Ray 340 and seem to be having problems with my switch panels. There is a switch panel to the left and right of the smart craft system. While underway I would loose the accessories on each side. This would kill my lights, electric vents, music radio, nav lights. etc.

Has anyone had a problem like this before? I was told that it could be the EIM module going? I find it strange that they both started acting funny together.

Any information would be great.

Thank you, Scott

The switch pads interface to separate controllers (EIM). The pads feed multiplexed digital control signals over serial lines to the modules, the actual switching is done from contacts in the modules.

So I agree, its not likely that both EIM's failed. Maybe a grounding issue or noise generation affecting the communications?

In your opinion do you think it would be a grounding issue at the terminals coming into the EMI or somewhere else. Any thoughts on how to test it or where to start? This boat is a lot more complicated than my previous 1993 270!!!

Thank you so much for your reply and assistance with this issue. This has been the best info I have from anyone!!

Thank you, Scott

Along with what Jim said, I would check the grounds and also the positive connections to both EIMs to make sure everything is tight. When the EIM looses power, even for a moment, everything that is fed off that EIM (that is powered on at the time) is turned off. Once power is restored to the EIM, the accessory must be turned back on manually. It could be something loose on a battery switch or in the DC panel as well and when you are underway the connection is shaking and loosing connection enough to reset the EIM(s) killing the power to everything.

Take a look at the wiring diagram in your owners manual and check all connections starting at the EIM and working your way to the DC panel or battery switches. The DC panel on that boat should be on the forward bilge wall in the center.

Hello
I have a 2009 350da I have been having problems since i bought the boat as a left over last year. So far they have replaced both EIMs and both soft switch pads.Sea Ray is currently working on a fix. According to SR the eim is programed to do what ever is programmed into each switch,
some how my system has been currupted and they dont have a patch for it.My problems are winlass is always energized wether the soft pad is on or off,and my dimmer switches dont work and finally I can shut off my rear speakers.

i replaced the dash panels and the EIMs, and from the dash panel all accesories function well, but in the cabin the bilge seleinoid open the window, what else I cand do? please help.
