Problem with Tilt on 2000 180 Sea Ray Help

Help, today I had a problem that scared me a little, my tilt would not work when I was bringing in the boat from a short trip in the Ocean. The out drive would not come up, after several tries I got it partially up just enough to get it out of the water. Then once on land I was able to get the trailer button to work. Any suggestions as to what might have caused this malfunction.

Have you checked your drive trimp pump reservoir for proper fluid level? May be very low on fluid.

If the trail switch worked and the others did not, I would look at the trim limit switch and wiring.
