My problem is this:

I have lost all focus at work, and I have decided to sell almost everything I own to buy diesel fuel.

Other than that, it's great so far.

Sounds familiar. Just offer to take Al Gore and his holywood gang out with you while burning some fossil fuel. He can compare fuel burn of his G5!! Did you see him on the Oscars w/ Leo and the Prieus gang?

I was going to eat lunch but just the thought of *** made me
nauseaous. I will have to wait a while now. My wife said if i didnt get back to work and quit bothering about that boat, there would be " NO FUEL OF ANY KIND"! Uh-Oh, JC

Michael,

Your perspective is just all wrong.........!

The better view is to think what you are doing for the enviornment (diesel exhaust contains far fewer enviornmental contaminants that do real harm) than gas and world consumption of our fossel fuels will be less since your over-all fuel consumption is much less with a diesel powered boat which is more efficient than your old gas engines.

...and if you are buying all that, I have a bridge I'd like to sell.

By buying the boat alone you contributed to global warming and the end of humanity as we know it.

All the guys/gals at the factory who drove to work spewing C02 from their exhuast pipes. Same for all the trucks that delivered materials to the factory. If all these workers were unemployed they would have stayed home and collected unemployment or welfare thereby not polluting the world except for the noise pollution created from watching the Jerry Springer Show.

Generally, I hate celebrities, and did not watch the oscars. I couldn't tell you 2 winners of any awards of any kind. I have no idea what won best picture, or what was even nominated. There is very little that comes from that culture that interests me.

Al Gore seems to be an OK fellow. I don't hate him like alot of my conservative friends do. That said, I don't tell him what to do, so likewise he shouldn't tell me. I don't care how much energy he uses at his house. If he can afford it, more power to him. That's America.

As far as the boat - my office overlooks Tampa Bay. We are at the north end of the Bay, and I can see about 20 miles south, all the way to the Sunshine Skyway.

That, and the fact that I can't get this picture of my poor lonely boat bobbing around at the marina, wishing for company, out of my head. Makes it hard to focus.

My job is very political, more than most people's, I suspect. I deal with elected officials quite a bit, and may someday be one. I can debate politics all day long, but not here. It kills the buzz - like having the office call while you're having a sunset and margarita.

Sounds like you have worked hard enough for the day....Take the afternoon off and go for a boat ride! It's 35 deg. here....so we can only think about it.

hey guys - it's OK to burn all the fossil fuels you want! all you need are "carbon credits." all the rich famous and fabulous people with yachts, private jets and multiple 8500 sq ft homes are getting them nowadays. it's like the "get out of jail free" card in monopoly!

Hey Mike:

Since you're in the buying mood....send up about 300 gallons...

BTW...I noticed that your old 380DA is already pending....that didn't take long....my 380DA sold and closed2 weeks after I traded it....so much for the dealers telling us that big gas boats aren't selling....

"Big gas boats don't sell well" is only the first half of the sentence. The part after the semi-colon is: "the cleanest, most well maintained boats always sell first".

The fact that both 380's have already sold is more a statement about how well you guys took care of your boats than it is about a dealer/salesman's ability to sell, or the condition of the economy.

Do the same thing on your new diesel boats and you can probably break even on them at about the 5th year of ownership.

Frank:

Thanks for the compliment... and..... as always, the sound advise....

Frank -

Ditto Dom.

It is funny though, I guess the dealer has more exposure. I had mine listed for over a year with a broker, even dropping to 200k. They list it at 192k, and it's deal pending in less than a week.

Go Figure.

I'll be going up Frank's way Tuesday and Weds. One of my partners and I will be going, but he's afraid to fly, so we have to drive - 6 1/2 hours each way.

I feel a sick day coming late next week. I have this strange diesel smell stuck in my nose. I think the only way to clear it is some salty air, on a warmer day with calm seas. Honest.
