I'm having a similar issue however 5 out of 10 times when I hit the port side start button I get nothing. Sometimes after a few tries it beeps then all is good other times I have to hit the parallel button then it's fine. This has happened underway as well no warning signs nothing port motor shut off then nothing parallel and starts right up and back in action

Same thing happening to the Port side engine of my 2001 Sea Ray 290DA. New long block and solenoid. Get the initial beep. Problem has moved from intermittent to more regular. Noticed that when I push the switch to turn over the engine, I no longer hear a click from the switch. Could test by swapping with the other switch but given age, cheap price and time to do such, I am going to simply change it out and keep a second on hand for when the other one goes.
