Pro Action chlorine dioxide for winter storage.

Has anyone used the Pro Action Chlorine Dioxide powder for winter storage? I saw a segment on Ship Shape TV about this stuff and how it kills mold and that mildew smell. I am thinking of trying it but wanted to hear from others on if they have used it and their results.

I wonder if the chlorine ions have any effect on stitching in fabric materials or if color fastness is compromised by the release of the gas?
