Can't find the thread with the suggestion but I want to thank some previous poster! A/C ran well, but was not pumping water thru to the outlet. Opened the bulb (with strainer) and filled it, made sure the thru-hull was in open position, still no water coming through. THEN, remembered what some poster had suggested and held a water hose to the OUTLET opening. After letting water flow "backwards" through the system started the A/C again and after some gurgles and burps - full water flow through system!!

Also, with the sea cock open, all you have to do is take the boat out and run it a little. The water will flow thru the system.
I keep my boat on a lift and it is a real pain to reach way down into the bilge to open and close the sea cock all the time. So, I just leave the sea cock open and when I launch again, I just run the boat a little ways to re-prime the system.

+1 as a fellow lift-kept boat owner. I leave the seacock open and just wait to get on plane. I actually do a backflush with the pier hose (most) every time when I get back and have run the AC because it pushes out the brackish water and has helped prevent scum growth and silt buildup in the strainer. Backflush, or also a quick suction with a shopvac are the easiest non-plane backup methods for priming as far as have found.

I don't rack store but I have used a drill attachment with a piece of garden hose. I bought the little pump at Home Depot for about $7.00. I also use it to winterize the AC system,
