Hey guys,

Here's the great news...everything is going along great with the new 310DA we close April 4th and come hell or high water we are staying our first weekend with it April 5th.

The interior is very beautiful with it's nuetrals and cremes, but I would love to add some color. I was wondering what kinds of things you guys have done.

I put four boys and two dogs on my boat for a few seasons and they've added all kinds of colors to the light colored decor... Want to borrow them for a week? or two? or three? Hell... how about the whole summer. They'll decorate your boat up nicely.

That's good news DQ...my crossed fingers were getting quite - quite sore ; )

My chief goal each weekend is not to ADD color to the cabin...

I stick one of those green heineken baby kegs on the boat. Goes with my green hat.

Gary, thank you but I will pass on the boys and dogs. Got some of those my self. I think it's only fair that the person with the bigger boat takes the others kids. and you win!!!

Jeff, thank you for your crossed fingers I know that's why everything has gone so smoothly. Someday I will fix ya up a Missouri RumRunner to say thanks.

Lt. Dan, You just cracked me right up!!! that was funny. I hope she reads it too!!

so Mike I have decided to go your route and just get a big big bottle of my fav Capt. Morgans and a pirates hat. I think I have one with mouse ears from Disneyworld last year. I will post pictures.

Thanks for making me smile today:)

Now if you are truly serious....throw pillows can add great color, or if you have curtains, look for something in a brighter, but tastful color or pattern. And the Tanqueray bottle is a beautiful shade of green especially when the light hits it just right.

Back to being serious for a minute, our '89 340 was pretty dated and we have been trying to purge all the pink with some other colors. This is not what I am advocating but take a look at the curtains behind the dinette and at either end of the sliding windows. http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj76/NorCalBoater/

Actually Norcal, I was thinking along those lines. I was just googling, trying to find out if I can buy the snap up curtains already made somewhere. I probably will at least change the throw pillows, they are nice but still creme colored like everything else in the boat.

Best of luck. We closed the end of last year on ours 2008 310DA. Already tired of making payments (3 already) with no boat in the water. Supposed to be in around the same time as yours. A little bit colder in Buzzards Bay thought than Missouri. Have to practice on the dual engines compared to the 260DA.

Dave, Good luck with your new boat, that's an awesome boat. You don't even know how scared I am about the driving difference. I am truly on edge afraid I have purchased more boat than I can handle. I am a stay at home mom, which is great in the summer. Ok well relatively great all my four kids are home, but the kids and I are able to stay on the lake more than my hubby. The poor guy has to go to work to make the payments:huh: Yep he's my sugar daddy!! Any way I am now afraid that I won't be able to put the thing in the slip. Not a problem with my little boat. I will be practicing in a cove somewhere all summer I am sure. My salesman assures me that it's easier, but hey we both know he just wants to sell a boat.

You keep me posted and I will keep you posted too. Hopefully no scratches or dents to report.

MIRROR BALL!!?? Ya know....I've seen you mention mirror ball a couple of times in the past few days. Have you got something against mirror balls or boats with style?

Lonetta, look in your area to see if the US Power Squadron conducts classes. My wife took a Skipper Saver course last year. For 4 hours she was out with an instructor on our boat and me. I was not allowed to offer input unless asked. At the end of 4 hours she brought our boat back and backed it into the slip beautifully. The bad part is now she wants to drive all the time....and listen to Jimmy Buffet. I've created a monster.

Several Suggestions - the first is along Gary's - we've found that crayons add a lot of color and can be artistic as well.

The second goes along with throw pillows - blankets and comforters for the bed, if selected correctly, can be left out (or installed) and add a more homey look the place.

Also, small rugs, runners or whatever, can add color.

Finally, fake plants in vases glued/velcroed to the interior, also add a pleasant look.

But we've grown fond of the crayons....

Hey DQ...good recommendations above...you can never go wrong with the disco ball. My wife had to do the same thing....add some color....red and brown throw pillows. A red carpet runner, on top of the carpet protector. And of course some red bed spreads for the aft cabin and vberth. Any guess what the predominant color is on our boat?

Jeff, I love it!!! I love them all and even that disco ball. Man we have quite a few Lake friends that will appreciate a disco ball hanging from the arch. That way you will know for sure it's me when we meet up on the rock this summer. Color will be added and all will be well, there will be peace on the lake and low gas prices. (ok maybe not the low gas prices but a girl can hope right?)

MM offers some women on the water classes, but darn it all of them are at LOTO, maybe I can talk them into doing one on our lake too. I will probably just try to be there when they deliver the boat and they give instruction at that time.

you guys are all great and thanks for the suggestions, (except the crayon) BUT just in case you need to know a Mr. Clean's magic eraser will get rid of crayon on ANYTHING!!!! I have had to use that on the boat, it even removes oil marks and MARKER.

I am going to get that disco ball Gary, you just wait til, I post those photos.

awesome thanks for the heads up. Are you going to Casino Night on Sat? I think we are going and maybe bringing a couple of friends. I will ask about signing up then. Your daughter looks so little behind the wheel of that big boat.
