My 1986 268da, with a 5.7 cobra, has a pestolite ibm-7013 distributer with a screw down cap. this post is for information only and may save you some time off the water. The pertronix convervsion kit for this distributer is a # 1582, there are 2 distributer cap and rotor combos you can use. They are not interchangable with each other due to height of rotor / height of cap issues. Also some, like my original after market rotor will not fit into the new pertronix magnet. All parts are available from napa. First is a al 169 rotor with a al 171 cap, these are the short ones and each needs to be used with the other, these are napa house brands. second is seirra 18-5403 rotor with a 18-5352 cap these are the tall ones. Each combination is good as a set. do not mix then they wont work. Do not use a 169 rotor with a 18-5352 cap, it wont work, and don't switch it up the other way. Hope this saves some of you other OMC guys some time and headach. Happy boating,
