Pre Purchase Questions 300 Sundancer 2003

I will look out for the water for sure and thank you for the advice.
Golfman25, after hours of research today I would go with a traditional aftermarket setup by (analog vs. digital) by FP marine. I could wire this myself. cheaper than the 6K price tag of the SeaRay replacment (unfortunate that they charge so much for this fix)

Hi Everyone, Well we are the proud owner of our 2nd Boat, 2004 300 DA. Took her from the Bronx down to Monmouth Beach, NJ with a tour of the City and she ran great. A couple of things I learned is that the Sink is Gel coat and not Corian. I used Bar Keeper and it did remove some of the burns, but also now shows the crack. Any idea on how to fix this? The 2nd as is that I found about 4 gallons of water sitting in the aft cabin to the right of the water tank. Unfortunately, we never checked under there during the survey. I removed all the water today and the mold. Any idea where this could be coming from? I know it is like a needle in a haystack, but I thought I ask anyway.

I would just put dishes in the sink. :)

I suppose you could grind the bad area out and resurface it. Might be difficult to get a good match though.

The leak in the aft cabin could be from your fresh water tank. In my 94 its located there and the 90° fitting that sends the water to the various systems was leaking.

Thank you, I will check that today and bring my pool chemical test strip for salt water as I will not taste the water.

Hi

I had a problem with water as described. You can read on it in the 300thread. Short story: most likely the Windows where lose, tighted up everything else also on deck and now all is good on that front.

Thank you, I will check that today and bring my pool chemical test strip for salt water as I will not taste the water.
Another test: run the shower, see if the sump correctly fills up but doesn’t overflow. The pump should turn on before it fills up, and pump the water overboard. Mine was overflowing, and the float switch was bad, which prevented the pump from turning on. Easy fix, they have the exact same float switches at west marine. Also, good idea to clean up the sump every now and then, mine was moldy and stinky.
The other test, fill the fresh water tank with water, and see if you get more water.
Another test, get a hose and spray water gently (like it’s raining), and then someone inside the boat looks for water coming in.
