These are the unofficial numbers from Jamestown. I worked the ramp from 9ish till 11pm
65 boats launched with out a single curse word heard. All done by 11am. Towed two boats from Swans Point due to bad impellers. Seahorse brought them back without damage. By 4pm the word came back that a boat had hit the #9 buoy tring to be a race boat driver, that boat knocked the marker loose and it's still floating somewhere in the James River. As the 65 other boaters (in various stages of intoxication) starting their return, 8 more boats ran aground, 2 with major damage to the drives the other 6 had to be towed in due to prop pins sheared off. By 11pm all boats were recovered again with no fights, one arrested for DUI about a mile down the road, two returned without their owners both arrested for DWB. All and all not a bad PPP.... All of this to see girls in bikinis acting like drunken fools, and guys drinking and fighting, I'm so glad I stayed at the ramp!
