So my 2000 5.7 port motor is acting up . Went ahead and did a tune up on it cap rotor, wires, plugs had a spare ignition coil so put that on checked timing hoping that was the problem. The motor compression is good all cylinders above 185 psi. Had the injectors cleaned and tested. Idles and starts fine. The minute you hammer it to get on plane the port motor feels rough and has no power. Once on plane you have to have the port motor throttle advanced compared to the starboard to get them synced. At WOT port motor is only good for 3600 rpm with the throttle having no response after the 3/4 position. Checked throttle cable and it open throttle body to full open. still leaning on a faulty injector.
 
Not sure how accurate your gauge is but it shouldn't be 185. That indicates you have liquid in there water or oil.
How about the pickup coil and ignition module in the diz?
 
And a fuel pressure test under load would be good info to have. Low pressure points to a weak pump or regulator issue. But keep in mind even with proper pressure you may still have a bad or clogged injector.

both motor have the same fuel pressure around 37 psi when you open them up.
 
Went up early this morning after flooping fuel rails from one motor to another and replacing an injector with a broken connected both motors running good .Turned out to be an injector causing the problem.
