Has anyone used a powerwasher to clean their boat. If so is there a desired PSI as to not cause gelcoat damage.

I use a gas powered 2200 (or is it 2600 psi?) unit on the hull bottom paint at the start and end of each season. I use the "general purpose - orange" tip. Seems fine. The high pressure one, red, will dig holes in wood.

Too scared to try the unit on the bare white parts. Not sure I ever needed more than the standard hose pressure to wash the boat. If more "elbow grease" is needed, I reach for the Porter Cable.

I use my pressure washer on the non-skid floor. Works like a champ. I use the 45 degree head for a little pressure.

Old thread but I just picked up a new gas powered pressure washer and used it on the fore deck non-skid. And WOW! That with some deck clearer and it went from nasty due to storage to brilliant white in about 10 minutes. Love buying new tools that make my life easier. Max pressure with a red tip is 3000 but I used the 2600psi one. Was nice to get this one for another $50 off.
