So I got the part in. Has anyone replaced this steering rack before? Any tricks to separating it from the teleflex cable etc?

Thanks I'm going to try and tackle it tonight.

Change to steel supply lines to the stanless ones that merc sells. It is a tough job to get bottom stud bolt out the last one i did took 8 hours to get out you might have to cut wrench shorter.

Update, so I got the old one just about all the way out. It's caught on the teleflex cable at the end, the fitting on the tube is a little too big to fit. Do you just tap it with a hammer to get it through or is there a trick to getting it out?

Lastly when I put it back on will it track straight and all or do you anticipate me having to do some sort of adjustment?

Thanks,

Tom

To try and claify this more, the end of the steering cable will not slide back through the tube that it is housed in. The end of the cable that the pin/ cotter pin goes through is too big.
