Potential 280 Sundeck Owner

My wife and I have been going back and fourth on boats for a year now. We actually put a deposit on a 260 Sundeck at the Atlanta boat show but backed out before closing. We are now working with the dealer on a 2011 280 Sundeck and we are excited about this one. The one thing is just the timing of the closing.

Being that it is a 2011 we are getting some good pricing (from what we have seen in our research).

I have been searching the forums and there are not many threads on the 280, any particular reason?

My wife and i think that the 280 is not really any more boat (same number of people allowed on board) than the 260 just a little more walk around space.

I'll *speculate* that there might not be a lot of these around, as when you get into that size most people might prefer something with a cabin.

That said, there are two Sundecks in the mooring field I'm at: my 220 and and a 280. That 280 is a beautiful boat, and while I have not had a chance to talk to the owners in depth, one of the launch operators told me it was brought up here on a day with rather rough seas and they were amazed at how smooth the ride was and how well it handled some major ocean chop'n'slop.

Well I am no longer a potential owner. My wife and I closed on the boat this evening. I will try to get some pictures up this weekend. We have scheduled our captains training for 3/31.

Did you get the 350 or the 8.2 motor?

The boat has the 8.2 liter (380) engine in it. I am now looking forward to spring.

Be careful on on the lake when i lived there frrom 94 to 98 they were having a boat accident almost every weekend.
