potbelly pig on the boat

I can appreciate your logistical problem since 10'years ago we had a 126 lb Great Pyrennes that we had to get in and out of a lift back SUV. First how do you get Kojak in and out of your vehicle? Second how close to the dock is your swim platform? Several of my dockmates have large dogs and have carpeted non-slip ramps for both humans and dogs to get on board. Does your boat have a transom door/gate? If Kojak is such a valued member of the household perhaps a different boat that could be ramp enabled would solve your problem. Kojak with a ramp could easily get on my 320. The cockpit is carpeted so the cloven one wouldn't slip while on deck. Getting down the cabin would be problem as I imagine with most boats. So my advice is look into a more porcine friendly craft that wouldn't require a lift or find a pig sitter.

No harm intended, but I am requesting an electric smoker for father's day (Cook Shack)

Ok here are two places to look for used boat stuff.dons marine salvage in fla.and sailorman.com in fla.

Would one of these work? I have one I've never used. PM me if interested.

I'm with you Bob.

Down here in Georgia, we have lots of folks who enjoy pontoon boats. I would think that would work perfectly.

Of course, there's one other thing they enjoy as well...

First I want to say we have out lift Thanks to an amazing CSR Member. We plan to use the lift to bring Ko-Jac from shore into the boat. We have a very nice ramp we use for him to get in and out of both our Truck and SUV. Our problem WAS getting him from the swim platform into the boat, as he cant climb a ladder. Again problem solved. We do not want a pontoon. Our boat is our summer cabin on the water.

A couple of weeks ago Rick and I were invited to bring Ko-Jac and JD ( our ball python) to a Girl Scout Explorer Weekend. Both critters did GREAT and the girls loved them. They have already invited us all back for next year.

Here is a picture of Ko-Jac with a group of the Girl Scouts.

Great post LA. Looks like the girls had a great time. I'd be willing to trade my admirals dog, 1 part mutt and 2 parts stupid, for Ko-Jac anyday.

The girls did have a good time. Another lady was there with her pet rat and her service dog. Ko-Jac and JD both did really well. We enjoy doing some kind of service or community stuff with Ko-Jac, it is always a great time to talk about HEART HEALTHY with kids! Next week we are going to help out at the Petting Zoo where we got KJ. They are doing a fund raiser to buy a new baby Kangaroo, their died in a storm last fall.

I feel ya on the pig jokes. I have a 1yr old mini potbelly who weighs a whoppin 7 pounds. Hes not big like yours but he is certainly a part of our family! Thumbs up for a fellow potbelly owner!!!

When we first got Ko-Jac at 6 weeks old he was 3 pounds, we were told he was a mini pot belly. Found out fast he was a normal pot belly. Which was and is more then fine with us, because when he was so tiny and little the Eagles out on the river would of scoped him out way to fast. After talking to our vet we found that the Dandi Pigs ( mini pigs) are pretty rare and few and far between in this area, as they cant survive the extreme weather changes. Your little guy is awesome. Cute as they come. The pig jokes on here are pretty calm compared to last year, they were so insensitive, things got way out of hand and I left for several months. But things have turned around allot, and we have gotten messages from several other member's with Pigs in the family as well.

Does your little guy swim? Ko-Jac hates it. He goes about belly deep. ( LOL remember his pot belly is near the ground).

his name is mojo. when we got him we saw the mom and dad they were about 15 to 20 lbs. We didnt think he was goin to stay as small as he is but he just turned 1 and hes still in the single digits. we didnt take him on the water last year because he was so small we were afraid hesd overheat, this summer we plan to have him out. Hes done a little swimming in the bath tub but thats about it. He loves the outdoors and loves the sun even more

I would like to thank SADLER in advance on the st. croix hoist, it is nice to see there ARE some helpfull searay owners out there willing to help out others without the stupid comments.

Two guys were walking their pets — one had a German Shepherd and the other had a pig. The man with the Shepherd suggested going into a bar for a drink. The other man says, "They're not going to let pets in the bar." And the first guy says, "No? Watch this." So he puts on some dark glasses, acts like the German Shepherd is a seeing-eye dog, walks into the bar and orders a drink. And no one says anything. So the second guy takes out some dark glasses, slips them on, and walks his pig into the bar. The bartender says, "Sorry — we don't allow pigs in here." And the man says, "It's okay — it's my seeing-eye dog." The bartender laughs and says, "This pig is your seeing-eye dog?" And the guy says, "They gave me a pig?"

...And finally.

A blonde was walking down the road with a healthy looking pig under her arm. As she passed the bus stop, someone asked,

"Where did you get that?"

The pig replied,

"I won her in a raffle!
