Some pics from last summer. Our marina of the Bush River and looking off the stern of the 400EC coming in from Annapolis.

Miss Maddy G ~
Great Pics. Couple of questions. How is the boating up your way? How's the Waters around the Statue of Liberty?
We were planning to come that way this summer for a trip but my son is getting married in Dom Rep.

Joe,
I love boating in Long Island Sound. There are so many destinations all along the connecticut and long Island coasts. We travel east as far as Block Island and as far west as NYC.

The sound could be flat as a lake and in a few hours it can churn up pretty good and have solid 4-5 foot chop. The trip into NYC was great but it does get interesting going through hells gate, where the harlem and east river meet. The current rips pretty hard through there.

You would be coming in from the south side so under the Verazzano bridge and you are in New York Harbor. The marina that has a great view of the statue on the Jersey side is Liberty Landing. We stayed there and had a terrific experience. Talk to you soon.

Watching the Blue Angels in Pensacola, FL last July. This was early and we eventually had 6 boats of Mobile people connected.

Greg,
Thanks for the info. When we head that way I will be sure to let you know. Think Spring!!!

Great pictures. Here's more (all in the 175 before we purchased the 280DA):

Trolling for Bluefish in the Potomac River

My grandfather (85, WWII Vet) on a sunset cruise

Rescuing a flipped Boston Whaler on a windy Labor Day weekend

Good memories!

BTW, some of you whose pictures are strung so far across the page....how about putting each one on its own line to make them easier to view? Just sayin'...

GFC ~ I am looking at your pictures and your boating area and thinking. No matter how many times you go past that area it never gets old. Thanks for the pics they are awesome.

nice pics ,go first class, did you have those bow rails made for you?I like that sun pad too,i could get me one of those without even a hint of bi#@%iness.

SeaRaybio and 1956Olds, thanks for the compliments on the pictures. This area doesn't offer all the widely spread destinations that many of you enjoy. When we leave the marina we can only go left (upstream) or right (downstream) but the river and the scenery are different as you move from one area to another. The scenery is always changing and that's one of the things we like about it.

1956Olds, those are the factory standard bow rails and sun pad. I'm sure you could have some made, but attaching them to the bow might be a bit of a chore.

BTW, you live and boat in the area I grew up. I was born in Saginaw and spent my formative year summers at a cottage on Point Lookout, about five miles north of Au Gres. My brother has a cottage there and we try to get back there every year or so. Great boating there on Saginaw Bay and Lk. Huron.

All pics are at Bimini, July and August....

Maddy, you need to edit your original page posts and hit enter after each image to keep them right underneath each other rather than next to each other extending the page.

Anyway, nice pics everyone. I have yet to get down to the Columbia but we run around Puget Sound, the San Juan islands and into the Gulf islands of Canada and north.

The second boat from the left is the only boat with an I/O. There is a ledge about 2 feet behind the boats where we are tied up and it gets deep REAL fast. Its an area we go to very often so local knowledge is a huge plus. We've also been known to move our raft without untying the boats (of course, when no other boats are around). Man i cant wait for spring!
