Looking for a portable grill and not necessarily a Magma or one that mounts on the gunwale or transom somewhere but rather one that I can take on the boat and grill at the beach or on shore upon arrival by boat. We often boat to a beach ground and leave the boat and set up on the sand.
Anyone have any recommendations for small portable grill?
I have been looking at the Weber Q series...Q100 and Q120...Not sure but they seem to get pretty solid reviews.

We looked into the Magma and the Weber Q and choose the "Weber Q" Nothing cooks like a Cast Iron Grill top. Plus many options. Very happy so far. John G

Hmmmmm......Didn't realize that tripod was an option...very very nice.
I remember that thread but didnt see the tripod

JohnE>>>>which Q did you end up with? How many do you usually cook for?

We have the weber Q and it has a fold up base with it and we take it all over. We are very happy with it. As small as it is you can still get alot of burgers on it at one time. Has a shelf to set your beer down while you are grilling. You can't get any better than that.

I've got the magma with the rod holder mount and the tripod. It's great. the SS holds up well.

I love my webber....never pushed the button more than once to start, great in wind, good surface area and light....best boat grill I have owned....

The Magma Gourmet grills now have built in legs that fold up out of the way when using a different mount.

I have the Monterey, mounted with a dual mount, but I can remove it from there, fold the legs down and bring it to the beach.

It may not be a Solaire, but it works for us. Plus it has a lot more 'real estate' for large groups, and it doesn't burn my corn

Good stuff guys....keep the ideas coming.
Wetpaint...what model is that....Q100, Q120, Q200, etc...Love the add on "wings".

Weave.....200 I believe......The next size up was to big and heavy...This is the perfect size and weight to bring on the dink and to the beach or move onto the dock, etc.....I have a weber grill on steroids at my house and in the 5-6 years i have owned it, it has never had a problem......I dont cook on the boat (for many reasons-mostly anal) very much, so this works perfect
