Thanks for sharing the photo. I ordered a telescoping dog ramp that goes from 4 to 8 feet and will try that.

I got a kick out of this monstrosity I spotted back in 2008 at a marina we were transienting at. It's hard to see but they had a trailer winch which allowed them to pull it UP vertically when not in use. I'ts just to the right of the handicapped grab rail.

I use this same ramp for our 85lb dog. The non-skid is just a thin sandpaper stick on. I peeled it off and replaced it with indoor/outdoor carpet. Works great on fixed docks and to get his fat butt in the back of the truck.
