Is there a common size pop rivet for standard snaps for canvas? I've had a couple come off the hull where the mooring cover attaches and want to replace.

Hmmm... Mine are all screwed to the hull. I bought SS ones from Sailrite. Item 444105. .25 each

I thought about screwing but mine are all riveted. I tried to screw one replacement and didn't work (screw head was too big and prevented snap fit). I'm also worried about pulling a snap and chipping the gelcoat if I use screws. I think the rivets will either pull through or break off vs. pulling gelcoat.

Stainless rivets, 1/8" typical. You need a Rivet tool that has the pointy nose to get down in the snap. I bought mine, Snap On-Blue Point, on Ebay.

Coral, I can't imagine why you would want to use Rivets instead of Screwed down snaps? I have a MGB and they use rivets to attach everything (Stupid Mother Country)! Sorry all you Anglophiles! They just don't work that well unless you can place a washer on the back side.
Just my 2 "Pence"!

My experience on screwing anything into the gelcoat is the risk of spider cracks or chipping. All of my snaps are riveted and for the most part have held up well except for two. Luckily the PO left his rivet tool on the boat so I figure I'd just replace that way. I'm going to ask my canvas guy that's working on my camper top and see what he recommends.
